Our story

In 2023, we moved from the Netherlands to Spain with a clear intention: to live closer to nature, to find more space and silence, and to focus on what truly matters.

We found an old, uninhabitable farmhouse on a piece of land near the coast — forgotten, neglected, but full of potential. With our three children (now 7, 9, and 11) we started from scratch. First, we renovated the small house ‘cabana’ on the land and lived there, the five of us, for over a year. It was simple, full, and unforgettable.

Step by step, we rebuilt the Masia, turning it into a warm, open home — and slowly shaped the land around it. Paths were cleared, trees were cut, spaces took shape. Along the way, our children grew with it: learning to build, to explore nature, to take care of things, and to be curious.

For us, Fuente de Vida is not just a place — it’s a way of life. One that values time outside, creativity, self-reliance, and everyday connection.

We now live in the Masia ourselves, which means it's not always available for rent. But the rest of the land and its homes are here for you — to pause, to breathe, and to experience a different rhythm, even if just for a few days.

Welcome, we're happy to share our world with you.

With love, Arlette, Martijn, Feike, Taco & Marilou van der Meulen
